Abstract:

In this experiment, we studied the expression of nerve growth factor (NGF) and its receptor tyrosine kinase (TrkA) in the testis of sexually mature roosters, and the influence of FSH in the testis on TrkA mRNA expression. Twenty-eight Zhuanghe Big Bone Chicken roosters aged twenty weeks were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups, namely the control group and three FSH treatment groups. In the treatment group, FSH was intravenously injected for five days, and testicular tissue was collected on the sixth day. The results showed that there were NGF and TrkA mRNA and protein in rooster testis tissue, and both of them were mainly expressed in spermatogonia, spermatocytes and sperm cells; TrkA mRNA levels in the FSH treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the expression level of TrkA mRNA increased with the increase of FSH concentration, but there was no significant difference in the expression level of NGF mRNA (P>0.05). In summary, the above results indicate that there are NGF and TrkA in rooster testis tissue, and FSH may affect the role of NGF in sperm production by regulating the expression of TrkA.
