Abstract:
The objective of this study was to confirm the polymorphism of GHR gene in Zhuanghe Dagu Chicken, and its genetic markers affecting slaughter traits. PCR-RFLP technique was used to analysize the polymorphisms of GHR, while least square method was used to analysize the correlation between the slaughter traits of the 17 weeks old Zhuanghe Dagu chicken and specific genotypes of GHR. The results showed that GHR gene was medium polymorphisms and the polymorphism information content (PIC) in GHR gene was 0.285. GHR was consisted of three genotypes and frequencies of the three genotypes were 0.3575, 0.3825 and 0.26 irrespectively. Frequencies of M gene and N gene were 0.54875 and 0.45125 irrespectively. Live weight, carcass weight, semi-eviscerated weight, eviscerated weight, pectorales weight, average daily gain of chickens with MM genotype were significantly higher than those of MN and NN genotype (P<0.05). In conclusion, MM genotype could significantly improved slaughter traits of Zhuanghe Dagu Chickens. In conclusion, MM genotype of GHR could significantly improved laying performance of Zhuanghe Dagu Chickens.
