Research progress of oriental fruit fly Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel) (Diptera: Tetriphitidae)

Abstract: Oriental fruit fly Bactrocera (Bactrocera) dorsalis (Hendel) is one of the dangerous quarantine pests of the world. Its hosts range is very so wide that it can harm more than 250 species fruits and vegetables. With the change of climate, adjustment of plant structure and increase of international trade, the area that has been harmed by oriental fruit fly is increasing. Serious economic lost in the produce of fruits and vegetables have been brought. In recent years, the research about oriental fruit fly is deeper and more, from the basic biology and ecology to molecular biology, the research about oriental fruit fly are gradually emphasizing the applied research. This article assembled the research progress on classification, ecology, biology, risk assessment and suitability analysis, molecular biology, control measures and countermeasures, etc about oriental fruit fly Bactrocera (Bactrocera) dorsalis (Hendel) in recent years.
