Abstract: 78 in 95 strains of avian E coli isolated from different chicken farms in Weifang area were pathogenic by identification of biochemical properties and serology. There were 14 serotypes in 78 strains of Escherichia coli, O78, O2, O15, O11 were predominant serotypes. The average drug resistance was 40.6% by drug sensitive test, the multiple resistance was very popular. Among 21 antibiotics used for drug sensitive test, 4 of them were highly sensitive, they were Cefotaxime Sodium, Fosfomycin Sodium, Florfenicol, Ceftriaxone Sodium respectively. It provides reference to prevention and treatment of broiler pathogenic E coli in this area.
