Abstract: It is very difficult to breed a new variety, because the traditional breeding methods have been limited by resources quantity. Tetraploid Chinese cabbage has double germ plasms and high resistance, it can produce abundant resources that benefits breeding new varieties. “Duowei 462” is a new tetraploid hybrid variety with high disease resistance and high quality. It was crossed through Xin 413 and CuiLv 5-3-2-2-1 by ICC,HA AFS (originally name as IVF, HAAFS). Child-bearing period 70-75 days, long type, tall is 45cm, head net weight is 3 kilogram, 90000 kg products can be produced in one hectare. Head net rate is 80%. It can be planted within all over the country. It has high resistance against virus disease, bacterial soft rot disease and downy mildew. It is a good earily harvest variety for autumn of northern China.
