Distrbution and Morphological Observation of Argentaffine Cells in Digestive Tract of Carduelis Spinus

Abstract: Abstract Using the silver niterate method of grimelius to study the distributed density and morphology of cells in the digestive tract of carduelis spinus.The results are as follows: the argentaffine cells could be found throughout most of the digestive tract, the argentaffine cells distribute wavelike, we couldn’t find the argentaffine cells in esophagud and ingluvitis, there are two high peaks, they are stomach and ileum, duodenum distribute the density lowest. The argentaffine cells were seen between epithelial cells of mucosa layer and gastric gland, a few at the bottom of epithelial cells. The shape of argentaffine cells was diberse, there were ellipse, tapering, shuttle and so on. Tapering cells always had one long processus extending to the gut lumen, shuttle cells had two long processus,one extending to the gut lumen, the other extending to the lamina propria. This text still combined the characteristics that the argentaffine cells in digestive tract of carduelis spinus maybe related to different digestive function of different region to carry on a discussion .Thinking that argentaffine cells in digestive tract of carduelis spinus might have both exocrine and endocrine functions.
