Research Progress in the Study of Shoot Shrivelling in Fruit Trees

Abstract:

Shoot shrivelling is a common phenomenon for many kinds of fruit trees occurring in the early spring in the north of China, which often seriously cuts down the yield and even ruins the whole fruit tree. In this paper, the difference between shoot shrivelling and freezing injury are pointed out; the damage, occurring period, and the caustic factors of shoot shriveling, the relationship between water content of shoot and shoot shrivelling and the control measures of shoot shriveling are reviewed.Some unsolved problems about shoot shrivelling are also put forward.
