Abstract:

In order to make an intensive study of the relationship between the area change of cultivate land and the economy development in Xi’an city. The study selected GDP, the social fixed assets investment, the urbanization level, the proportion of tertiary industry and cultivated land area as the main analysis indexes, used the method of correlative analysis to analyze the relation between economic development and change of cultivated land area during 1990—2008 in Xi’an city. The results showed that the relation between economic development and cultivated land area was negative, and it appeared that the development of the economy was in advance while the change of the cultivated land was laggard; and the urbanization level index was the largest influence factors on the reduction of cultivated land. The economic development trend was capital intensive and saving, land intensive degree was gradually improved.
