Abstract: In order to use humic acid efficiently in agriculture so as to alleviate organic fertilizer shortage, a field experiment was set up to study the effect of different fertilization, including no fertilizer, fertilizer, fertilizer combined with weathering coal, humic organic fertilizer on crop growth, dry matter accumulation, yield and fertilizer use efficiency of maize. The results showed that: crop growth, dry matter accumulation, yield and nutrient uptake were improved significantly by different fertilization; compared with applying fertilizer, fertilizer combined with weathering coal and humic organic fertilizer not only improved crop growth and increased the weights of root, stalk and grain yield significantly, but also increased the content of nitrogen and phosphorus in each part of maize, resulting in higher fertilizer use efficiency. Fertilizer combined with weathering coal and humic organic fertilize increased the potassium content in root and stalk significantly, however, they had no significant effect on the potassium content in grain.
