Analysis on Information Entropy of Land Use Structure Change and Its Driving Forces in Zhuanglang County

Abstract: In order to research on the dynamic changes of land use structure and make land use more reasonable and sustainable, this paper supported by the theory of information entropy, equilibrium degree and dominance principle degree, characteristics of land use structure dynamic evolution of Zhuanglang County was analyzed, and driving forces of land use structure change was analyzed by using principal component analysis methods based on the land use change date and economic and social data of Zhuanglang County from 1997 to 2012. The results showed that information entropy of the land use structure in Zhuanglang County had increased first, and then decreased, until eventually and continuously increased during the research period from the year of 1997 to 2012, which indicated that the regional land use system was still in the large degree of development. The percentage of cultivated land, forest land and unused land were the main factors which influenced information entropy changes of land use structure in Zhuanglang. The factors of economic development, population growth, urbanization and industrial structure were the important driving forces of land use structure change in Zhuanglang.
