Abstract: From the development status of herbicide in China, the problems and development in herbicide industry were discussed in this paper. On this basis, the application, research and using status of herbicides were comprehensively analyzed. The author pointed out that on the basis of the introduction and exploitation of new herbicides, the short residual effect varieties and herbicide- resistant GM crops should be developed urgently, mixed preparation and improved technology should be adopted, synergist and security agents which were environment friendly should be developed and applied, and the form of herbicide should be improved to enhance the flexibility and selectivity of weeding in sorghum fields.
