Abstract: As the natural ecological protective screen of the west region in Beijing, the development of Lingshan scenic spot has a far-reaching effect on ecology and tourism of Beijing area. To provide reference for tourism development, SWOT method was used to analyze the development of Lingshan scenic spot. The results showed that the advantages of this area included rich resources, complete infrastructure, policy advantages, ecological restoration base, and ecological restoration project. The weaknesses of this scenic spot included the shortage of ideological understanding and tourism talents, single type of tourism product, inconvenient transportation and the difficulty in grazing prohibition. The opportunities included the tourism flourish, healthy consumption of citizens, good prospects of development and powerful strategic guide. The threats included fierce competition, the shortage of tourism culture development, poor scenic management and the fragility of ecological environment. The results of SWOT showed that Lingshan tourism development should adopt the“S O”strategy and develop agricultural ecotourism actively.
