Abstract: In order to scan and define the characteristics for DUS testing of okra new varieties, this study inspected and collected the related data of morphological characteristics of 180 okra materials’leaf, and compared the differences among the materials. The results showed that in the observation of the 15 characteristics, 4 qualitative characteristics, 5 pseudo- qualitative characteristics, and 4 quantitative characteristics were obviously different among all the varieties. Therefore, 13 characteristics could be considered as the basic characteristics of DUS testing guidelines of okra.
