A New Boron Combined Compound Fertilizer: Its Effect on Yield and Quality of Flue-Cured Tobacco

Abstract: A field experiment was carried out to study the effect of a new kind of boron combined compound fertilizer on the yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco in boron deficit soil in Panzhihua. The results showed that the application of this fertilizer had no significant effect on the agronomic traits of flue-cured tobacco. Compared with that of CK, the tobacco leaf yield, the output value and the average price were increased by 7.2%, 14.0% and 6.3%, respectively. And the application of boron combined compound fertilizer could make the chemical composition content more suitable and the ratio of chemical compositions of tobacco leaf more coordinated. Thus, the effect of the fertilizer on economic benefit increase was remarkable, and the study would be a scientific basis for the large area application of the fertilizer.
