Current Situation and Reflection on SSSAP of Fisheries S&T Personnel in China:A Case Study of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences

Abstract

Abstract: To explore the basic situation and mode of Chinese fisheries scientists doing academic exchange and study through The State Sponsored Study Abroad Programs (SSSAP), taking Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences as a case, based on the data of 5 consecutive years from 2011 to 2015 on application type, application country, application major, age of applicant, education background and academic level of applicant, the paper summarizes and analyzes features of SSSAP personnel and the challenges during program management. The paper explores countermeasures of how to effectively manage the SSSAP concerning the existing problems and facilitate fisheries researchers to find opportunities studying abroad through the program.
