Abstract: The aims were to explore the genetic evolution and function of cucumber NRT3 genes, and provide evidence for further studies on cucumber NRT3 gene. Two cucumber NRT3 genes were identified by bioinformatics method, and their genome distribution, gene structure, phylogeny, and cis-elements were systematically analyzed. The results showed that, two cucumber NRT3 genes were both located in chromosome 1, and they had one or two exons, they were orthologous to Arabidopsis NRT3.1 or NRT3.2 respectively. The putative NRT3 protein sequences of cucurbit crops were conserved extremely. And also they had several putative cis-elements responsive to plant hormones and environmental stresses. The cis-elements of cucumber and melon orthologous NRT3 genes had great difference. This study provided a clue for investigating the function and evolution of the cucumber NRT3 genes.
