Abstract: To confirm the influence of uniconazole, a new plant growth regulator, on raising sorghum’s resistance to adversity, two professing methods of seed soaking and spraying were adopted in this research. For the spraying, in different growth periods of the sorghum, different concentrations of uniconazole were sprayed, so as to test the changes of enzyme activity of SOD, POD, CAT and MDA in sorghum and explore the biological activity of uniconazole. The research results showed that no matter it was seed soaking or spraying, the content of SOD, POD and CAT all rose along with the increase of uniconazole concentration. For seed soaking, the effect would be the best when the concentration was 40 mg/L. For spraying, the optimal effect would be achieved when the concentration was 125 mg/L. The content of MDA first reduced then rose along with the increase of the concentration. In terms of seed soaking treatment, the minimum value appeared when the concentration was 40 mg/L; in terms of spraying treatment, the minimum value appeared when the concentration was 125 mg/L, which meant that uniconazole could prevent or slow down the cell membrane lipidic peroxidation and enhance the sorghum’s resistance to adversity.
