Leaf Biomass Estimation of Common Greening Tree Species in Xinjiang Agricultural University Campus

Abstract: Biomass is the basis for studying the structure and function of forest ecosystems. Biomass estimation is of great significance to study the relationship between plantation ecosystem productivity and environmental factors. In this paper, the leaf biomass of the common greening tree species in the campus of Xinjiang Agricultural University was estimated by the method of point numbers and empirical formula. The results of the two methods were compared, and the results showed that the leaf biomass of Ulmus pumila was the largest, Fraxinus americana is the second , Ulmus densa is the smallest. Leaf biomass variance of two method showed that the results empirical formula is more stable than point numbers, and it was feasible to estimate tree leaves biomass by empirical formula.
