Research Progress of Forest Dynamic Succession Model

Abstract: The forest dynamic succession model is based on individual model and prediction, which is widely used in the study of long-term dynamic change of forests. It is an effective tool to study the response of forest ecosystem to climate change. The authors briefly introduced the theory of forest dynamics, analyzed the feasibility and necessity of applying the model to study the relationship between forest and climate under the background of global climate change, and analyzed the classification, development and evolution of forest dynamic succession model and the research value of the model. Based on the existing research results, the authors reviewed the research status of forest succession model, discussed relevant international research hotspots and frontier problems, pointed out future development direction of succession model, and looked forward to the future development trend of forest succession model. The results showed that the forest succession model under the background of global climate change was continuously optimized and upgraded, and had significant meaning on forest protection and forestry management. This paper could provide references for further research on forest ecosystem response to climate change, at the same time, provide global coping strategy for the protection and management of forest cosystem.
