Diversity Analysis of Wx Gene Sequence of Local Rice Varieties in Guizhou

Abstract: To study the correlation between rice flavor quality and Wx genotype of Guizhou local rice germplasm, genotype analysis and diversity identification of Wx gene of 88 local rice varieties were conducted by using specific primers. The results showed that 66 varieties were WxⅠ, including 59 accessions of Guizhou graminoid germplasm. 15 varieties were Wx Ⅱ, including 11 accessions of Guizhou graminoid germplasm. 7 varieties were Wx Ⅲ, including 1 accession of Guizhou graminoid germplasm. Among Guizhou graminoid germplasm (CT)n, (CT)18 and (CT)20 were the main types. The first intron+1 site was T, (AATT)n was 5, which indicated that most of Guizhou graminoid germplasm were low-amylose content cultivars, and it was closely related to the local residents’dietary habit. Although WxⅡ graminoid germplasm were non-waxy varieties, they can also be used as excellent materials for rice breeding, because the CT repeats are over 16, the first intron+1 site is T, the amylose contents are between Wx I and WxⅢ.
