Abstract:

The soil and water quality of Jinbu watershed in Shangsheng of Baiquan are analyzed to provide necessary basis and data support for a production base of organic meat goose. The soil parameters evaluated are the nutrients and heavy metal contents, and the water parameters evaluated are the pH value and the fluoride, cyanide and heavy metal contents. The results show that the soil in the region is in high fertility level of grade 1. Heavy metal contents in the soil accord with the soil environmental quality standards for organic food production areas, the comprehensive pollution index P≤0.7, which is of grade 1. The water quality is suitable for poultry and livestock and complies with the environmental quality standards for organic food production areas, the single-item and comprehensive pollution indices is <1.0 and ≤0.5, respectively, making the overall water quality grade 1. Goose farming based on grazing and free-range model could be promoted on different land use types. The typical survey area is an ideal location for the development of organic goose farming.
