Abstract: This articles studied extracting and absorbing the red piment of Portulaca grandiflora with different resins.The five kinds of resins were compared. The results showed that AB-8 resin had the best performance of absorbing the red pigment of Portulaca grandiflora. In the course of desorbing the absorbed pigment 50% ethanol was optimal，AB-8 resin was selected during the experiment.After repeating 20 times，the absorption factor was only at a loss of 2.17%.The piment could dissolv in polar solvent. Under the acidic condition，the piment was fresh red and had a better resistance to light and hot.
