Abstract: Two kinds of ornamental waterweeds were used as tested material in this study. The results showed that: the leaves of Alternanthera bettzickiana were used as explants to initiate callus on MS supplemented with 6-BA0.5 mg/L (units the same below) and NAA0.2; bud was induced on MS supplemented with 6-BA2.0, NAA0.05,AD10; shoot-tip bud was induced on MS supplemented with 6-BA2.0, NAA0.05; subcultured on MS supplemented with 6-BA1.0 ,NAA0.05; root was induced on 1/2MS supplemented with IBA0.5. Shoot tips of Lysima chiachristinae Hance were used as explants to initiate buds on MS supplemented with 6-BA0.5,NAA0.02; subcultured on MS supplemented with 6-BA0.5, NAA0.05; roots were induced on 1/2MS supplemented with IBA0.5. The medium contained 30g /L sucrose and 6 g /L agar. The cultures were maintained at 25℃ under a 12-h photoperiod with light intensity 1800 Lx, can produce complete plants.
