Abstract:

Rational crops’ intercropping can decrease occurrence of pests and diseases, but rarely study were carried out about effect of silicon nutrition on diseases. Pot experiments of sandy culture and water culture were conducted to study the effect of silicon nutrition on nitrogen uptake by wheat and occurrence of Blumeria Graminis under the condition of wheat and broad bean intercropped. The results showed that wheat and broad bean intercropped decreased the occurrence of Blumeria Graminis. Applied silicon nutrition decreased the occurrence and severity of Blumeria Graminis. Compared with Si-level, applied silicon nutrition average decreased occurrence of Blumeria Graminis 2.2%-35.1% in wheat sole cropped, while average decreased occurrence of Blumeria Graminis 3.4%-15% in intercropped condition. When applied silicon nutrition, wheat biomass yield was not increased compared with Si-level in sole and intercropped system by water culture; while biomass yield increased 14.2% in sole cropped system and increased 57.1% in intercropped system by sandy culture. There was no effect of applied silicon and intercropped on wheat nitrogen content by water culture. Wheat and broad bean intercropped by sandy culture, applied silicon nutrition decreased wheat nitrogen content 10.4% in sole cropped system and increased nitrogen content 5.5% in intercropped system.
