Abstract:

In order to provide theoretical basis for walnut pollen preservation, artificial pollination, and the configuration of pollinizer, the pollen’s shape, size and the pollen vitality of different walnut cultivars were determined. The results showed that walnut pollen were oval or circular shape. There were certain differences in the species and varieties. Using staining with TTC showed that the pollen vitality of 11 walnut varieties was strong. The pollen vitality under the conditions of room temperature was shorter than under the conditions of chilled and frozen.
