Abstract:

The situations of new Chinese rice breeding progress and production history were reviewed briefly in the paper. Though Chinese rice breeding has reached advanced levels in the world for years, and great achievements have been made in rice production, there are some restrictive factors to be studied and solved conscientiously. The restrictive factors including the shortage of agricultural resources, the lack of dominant varieties, the low level of mechanization, etc. were analyzed, some appropriate countermeasures such as scientific utilization of agricultural resources, optimization of varieties and regional distribution, promotion of mechanization and so on were put forward, and the way of future development was also pointed out to promote more healthy and orderly rice industry development.
