Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation among body weight, body size and carcass traits of hetian chicks in order to provide scientific basis for breeding and improving the native breeds. The body weight, body size and carcass traits of Hetian Chicks at 120 days were measured and the correlations among these traits were analyzed. The results showed that there were very significant differences between the male and female chicks for body weight, body slope length, fossil bone length, breast depth, breast width, shank length and shank circumference (P＜0.01). The body weight had significant positive correlation (P＜0.01) to body slope length, fossil bone length, breast depth, breast width, shank length and shank cirumference. And there are vary degree correlation among others traits. There were significant difference (P＜0.01)）between male and female chicks for slaughter weight, carcass weight, half-eviscerated weight, eviscerated weight, leg muscle weight, abdominal fat weight, skin fat weight, percentage of leg musle and percentage of abdominal fat. And there were vary degree correlation among others traits.
