Abstract

Abstract: Field experiments were conducted to study effects of maize and pepper intercropping on photosynthetic indexes, biomass and yield of maize and pepper. The results showed that: net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, intercellular CO₂ concentration, water use efficiency, stomatal limitation value of maize and pepper intercropping system increased comparing with monoculture system. The biomass and yield of maize and pepper intercropping system were significantly higher than that of monoculture system. Therefore, intercropping system could improve the photosynthesis of maize and pepper. The biomass and yield of maize and pepper are also improved.
