Research Progress of Nitrogen Deposition Effect on Fine Root Dynamic and Morphological Characteristics

Abstract: The purpose of this review is to summarize previous researches and limitation of the past research, and point out the research direction of N deposition effect on fine root. Based on previous research results, this paper summarized the N deposition effect on the fine root dynamic and morphological characteristics, and ecosystem C cycle. With detailed analysis of the current situation of global N deposition, the authors found an increasing trend of N deposition year by year. The responses of fine root dynamic (fine root turnover and respiration) and morphological characteristics (fine root length, diameter, biomass, tissue chemistry) to the N deposition were analyzed. These studies provided certain evidence about N deposition effect on fine root dynamic and morphological characteristics, and had significance to future comprehensive research on fine root.
