Abstract:

To explore the effect of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) on the immune response of attenuated pseudorabies vaccine (PRV), peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of a piglet were experimentally inoculated with PCV2 and PRV alone or in combination, respectively. The mRNA level of regulatory cytokines including IL-4, IL-10, IL-12p40 and IFN-γ in piglet PBMCs at different hours post inoculation were quantitatively measured by real-time PCR method. The results showed that there was up-regulation of the mRNA expression of IL-4, IL-12p40 and IFN-γ induced by PRV, IL-4, IL-10 and IL-12p40 induced by PCV2, respectively. Moreover, the up-regulation of IL-4, IL-12p40 and IFN-γ mRNA expression induced by PRV was repressed in presence of PCV2, and the repression effect of IFN-γ mRNA expression was significant (P<0.05). The results revealed that PCV2 could induce the detrimental effect on the cell-mediated immune response of PRV.
