Abstract: The aim is to explore the preventive effect of plasma treating seed on rice bakanae disease (Fusarium moniliforme Sheld). Four treatments were designed, including treatment 1 with plasma treating seed, treatment 2 and 3 with soaking seed by different concentrations of 25% prochloraz EC, treatment 4 as the blank control. The results showed that the rice roots color of treatment 1 was whiter than that of others, the number of root was 0.8-1.6 more than that of others, and the length of root was 0.3-1.3 cm longer than that of others. Therefore, root system development was accelerated by plasma seed treatment technology for rooting and strong seedling. The control effect of plasma treating seeds on rice bakanae disease was 25% in seed beds, 70.59% in field. Rice yield of the plasma treatment group increased by 13.2% in comparing with that of the control. Rice resistance to bakanae disease was strengthened, but the effect was not very good, so chemical fungicides could not be replaced by plasma seed treatment technology completely. But there was an obvious increase in the yield of rice.
