Abstract: It is well known that Phragmites Communis Trin (Reed) has not only high economic value but also wide applied prospects in protection of ecological environment. In this paper, an attempt is made to predict the applied prospects of reed at water-lever-fluctuating Zone in the Three Gorges Reservoir Region by analyzing the present situation, in other words, reed may prevent water erosion, eutrophication in water, heavy metal pollution, solid castoff pollution, garbage infiltration and water pollution, the overrunning of algae and so on. In addition, the reasonable using of reed materials may not only increase the economic income for peasants, but also quicken the pace of economic construction in this region.
