Abstract:

The aims are to study the flowering and fruiting rule of summer peanut under single-seed sowing, and to explore the growth and development law and high yield mechanism of summer peanut. Using peanut variety ‘Hehua 11’ with high oleic acid as material, the randomized block experiment was designed for single seed sowing with different densities. The regularity of flowering and needling in the field was continuously marked with 10 plants, which were investigated every 10 days. The volume of pods was measured by drainage method, and the dry matter weight of pods was measured by drying method. The duration of flowering decreased with the density increase. The formation of fruit needles was influenced by the blossoms number. The number of pods decreased with the density increase. Pods’ yield increased first then decreased with the density increase. It also showed that at the density of 210000 plants/hm2, the blighted fruits’ number was the least, and the 100 kernels weight and the yield were the highest. The density of summer peanut should be increased appropriately in single seed sowing. High density could result in less flowering and fruiting, while low density could affect the population yield.

Key words: summer peanut, single seed sowing, density, flowering, pod development
