Abstract:

This study aims to explore the response of yield and quality related traits of a new wheat variety ‘Yunmai 110’ to different planting densities. ‘Yunmai 110’ was used as the experimental material, and one factor randomized block design with 6 planting densities was adopted. The yield and quality related traits were investigated, and the variance analysis of different planting densities was conducted. The results showed that planting density had a significant effect on the yield and yield components. It also had a significant effect on the number of tillers at the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh leaf stages, but it had no significant effect at the eighth leaf stage. Planting density had a significant effect on the grain perimeter of the variety, but it had no significant effect on the other four grain type traits. Planting density had a significant effect on the bulk density of the variety, but it had no significant effect on the other 8 quality traits. When the basic seedling density was 270×104/hm2, the yield was the highest (6435.00 kg/hm2), the growth and decline of stems and tillers of the variety was the most gentle, the highest spike rate was 25.39%, the largest grain perimeter was 18.07 mm and the highest bulk density was 798.00 g/L. Therefore, the yield and quality related traits of the new wheat variety ‘Yunmai 110’ have a great response to different planting densities. The variety can obtain the highest yield with the basic seedling density of 270×104/hm2, under which the three yield elements are the most coordinated, the growth and decline of stems and tillers are the most reasonable, the plant height is appropriate and the comprehensive quality traits are the best. ‘Yunmai 110’ is suitable to be popularized under this planting density.
