Abstract: In the view of the low yield of domestic Cucurbits crops which has too many staminate flowers and few female flowers before the mid-1970s’, the studies of the Cucurbits breeding technique using whole female line (more female line) were made to solve the problem by Guangdong Academy of Agriculture Sciences, Vegetable Research Institute (front Industrial Crops Research Institute) and so on units. Through practice examinations, this line has become one of the mainstream principles which were used to instruct Cucurbits breeding. From the late 1980s’, advancing with times, the breeding principle successively combined such research contents as the disease –resistant breeding, the ecology breeding, the quality breeding and so on. Much progress were made by this way, And the perspectives of the future were discussed.
