Abstract:

To clarify the difference of the physiological response of different wheat varieties to the stress of Fusarium graminearum crude toxin and it’s relationship with Fusarium head blight resistance, the seedlings of different wheat varieties were treated with Fusarium graminearum crude toxin. The incremental ratios of MDA contents, SOD and POD activities of seedlings were tested in 0.5~4 days after treatment. The experimental results showed that the incremental ratios of MDA contents in the seedlings of the highly resistant and moderately resistant varieties were lower than susceptible varieties. SOD activity of all varieties increased after treatment and then decreased in the second day after treatment, SOD activity incremental ratios were higher in highly resistant and moderately resistant cultivars than in susceptible varieties. POD activity increased in all kind of varieties in 1~4 days after treatment, but more quickly in susceptible cultivars than in highly resistant ones. There was remarkable difference among different resistant wheat varieties by variance analysis of the second day’s observations and the mean of 2~4 days’ observations of the incremental ratios of MDA content, SOD and POD activities.
