Abstract:

This study aimed to reveal the differences in the composition of soil bacterial community and the key environmental drivers across different forest types in the rocky mountainous area along the Yellow River in northern Shaanxi. The Platycladus orientalis forest, Pinus tabuliformis - Amorpha fruticosa forest, Ziziphus jujuba forest, and Pinus tabuliformis - Rhus typhina forest were selected as the study objects, and 16s rRNA high-throughput gene sequencing and soil physicochemical analysis were employed to systematically compare the effects of forest types on soil bacterial community characteristics. The number of soil bacterial OTUs among the four forests followed this order: Pinus tabuliformis - Rhus typhina (6209) > Platycladus orientalis (5817) > Pinus tabuliformis - Amorpha fruticosa (5519) > Ziziphus jujuba (5351), and the β-diversity varied significantly among the forest types. The dominant bacterial phyla were Actinobacteria (26.42%-38.33%), Proteobacteria (16.13%-23.81%), and Acidobacteria (13.66%-21.41%). Soil physicochemical properties explained 83.29% of the variation in bacterial community composition, with total nitrogen (r²=0.8279), soil organic carbon (r²=0.7772), and total phosphorus (r²=0.7765) as the key drivers. The type of forests significantly affects soil bacterial structure in the rocky mountainous area along the Yellow River in northern Shaanxi, with total nitrogen, soil organic carbon, and total phosphorus as the core environmental drivers.

Key words: rocky mountain area along the Yellow River, forest types, soil bacterial community, soil physicochemical properties, vegetation restoration, soil environment
