Abstract: To analyze the genetic diversity of ‘Zaosheng cattle’ in the molecular level, polymorphism distributions of microsatellite loci which including IDVGA46, ILSTS005, IDVGA27, TGLA44, IDVGA2, BM2113 and ETH10 were detected in ‘Zaosheng cattle’ by Polymerase Chain Reaction and Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis. Number of alleles and effective alleles, expected heterozygosity and polymorphic information content were calculated. The results showed that a total of 25 alleles were identified on the 7 microsatellite loci with polymorphism from 112 samples. The average number of alleles and effective alleles was 3.5714 and 3.0004, respectively. The average expected heterozygosity was 0.6996 and the average polymorphic information content was up to 0.6526. The results indicated that genetic heterozygosity of ‘Zaosheng cattle’ was relatively high, and the genetic diversity was rich. The selected microsatellite loci could be used to evaluate genetic diversity of ‘Zaosheng cattle’.
