Abstract: In order to choose high efficient and safe herbicide, field experiments were carried out in north Shanxi.‘Tianpu’herbicide (dominant ingredient was pendimethalin) was used as the test agent and 8 different types of oat varieties were used. The results showed that control effect of ‘Tianpu’ herbicide on Chenopodiaceae, Polygonaceae, Gramineae and Amaranthaceae weed was obvious, especially on Chenopodiaceae weed, the control effect reached the highest of 100%, and the control effect on Portulacaceae, Compositae and Convolvulaceae weed was not good;‘Tianpu’herbicide had certain inhibiting effect on ear length, round number and spikelet number, and had promoting effect on 1000 seed weight; the average grain yield of herbicide treatment increased by 70.5% and 4.3% respectively compared with that of no-herbicide treatment and artificial weeding treatment. This herbicide did not have obvious phytotoxicity effect on the after reap crop (rape), which could be used safely in oat-rape rotation.
