Agricultural Modernization and Agricultural Employment:An Empirical Study on National Data 2014

Abstract

Abstract: To broaden agricultural employment in the process of agricultural modernization, we established a multiple regression model based on the data in national and provincial statistical yearbooks of 2014, to conduct an empirical study. The results showed that technical progress, namely the improvement of the total power of agricultural machinery, made agriculture be attractive to employment. Industrial structure changes, namely the decrease of planting area proportion of grain crops in agricultural crops, played a role in the employment absorptive capacity of agricultural sideline products. In order to get out of the dilemma of insufficient agricultural labor, the government should strengthen the promotion of modern agricultural technology and optimization of agricultural industrial structure.
