Abstract: The impacts of different media ratios on growth and physiological characteristics were investigated in order to screen out the favorable media ratio for every landscape tree species. In this test, 15 groups of different proportions of light media were set, 4 growth indexes of Elaeocarpus apiculatus Masters, Elaeocarpus sylvestris (Lour.) Poir., Ilex rotunda Thunb. and Lysidice rhodostegia Hance were detected. The optimal media ratio was evaluated and chosen by subordinate function comprehensive evaluation. The results showed that, M3 (coco coir) and M10 (yellow soil: peat soil =1:4) had better effects on the seedling of Elaeocarpus apiculatus Masters. M4 (yellow soil: peat soil =1:1) and M9 (yellow soil: coco coir: mushroom residue =2:1:1) had better effects on the seedling of Elaeocarpus sylvestris (Lour.) Poir.. M9 (yellow soil: coco coir: mushroom residue = 2:1:1) and M8 (yellow soil: peat soil: mushroom residue =2:1:1) had better effects on the seedling of Ilex rotunda Thunb.. M12 (yellow soil:mushroom residue =1:4) and M8 (yellow soil: peat soil: mushroom residue = 2:1:1) had better effects on the seedling of Lysidice rhodostegia Hance.
