Abstract: To provide biochemical genetic indexes for germplasm standard and identification of Xenocypris davidi, so as to appropriately protect and utilize the resources, malate dehydrogenase (MDH), lactic dehydrogenase (LDH), esterase (EST), malic enzyme (ME), 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6-PDGH) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) from seven tissues (liver, heart, brain, muscle, spleen, kidney and gill) of Xenocypris davidi were studied by using vertical gradient polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Isozyme loci and zymograms were also analyzed. The results showed that the six isozymes presented tissue specificity to various degrees. The activities of EST, ME, MDH and 6-PDGH in liver were high. The activity of LDH was high in liver, spleen and kidney. The activity of SOD was high in spleen and liver.
