Abstract: The aim is to verify the reasons of Zizyphus jujube (Chinese jujube tree) volatiles attracting Asias halodendri. The electroantennogram and olfactory behavioral responses of A. halodendri to six volatiles from Chinese jujube tree were tested with the electroantennogram (EAG) and Y-tube olfactometer, respectively. The results showed that the six compound chemicals emanating from Z. jujube could induce obvious EAG responses of male and female beetles. A. halodendri had the highest EAG relative value to the six compound chemicals when the concentration of stimulation got to 100 μg/μL. The EAG responses value of male and female A. halodendri to n-hendecane was the highest, being 2.34 and 2.29, respectively. As for olfactory behavioral response tests, the male and female beetles were attracted by n-hendecane and cis-3-hexenyl acetate. The research could provide a theoretical basis for developing botanical attractants to A. halodendri.
