Abstract:

To identify and screen new maize varieties with resistance to rough dwarf disease suitable for cultivation in Huanghuaihai Region, the resistance to rough dwarf disease of 295 maize inbred lines and 10 high-yield hybrid combinations were identified by field natural disease identification method. 12 maize inbred lines with high resistance, 32 maize inbred lines with resistance, 69 maize inbred lines with moderate resistance, 71 maize inbred lines with susceptibility to disease and 115 maize inbred lines with high susceptibility, and 3 maize hybrid combinations with resistance to rough dwarf disease were identified. Among them, 12 maize inbred lines with high resistance can be directly used for breeding new maize varieties resistant to rough dwarf disease. At the initial stage of breeding new maize varieties resistant to rough dwarf disease, it is necessary to ensure that the maternal and male parents of maize hybrid combinations reach above the level of moderate resistance, or that one of their parents must be inbred lines with high resistance to rough dwarf disease.
