Abstract: To explore the effects of different nitrogen levels on maize yield and nitrogen uptake and utilization under the condition of straw deep burial, the maize yield, seed nitrogen accumulation, and nitrogen use efficiency were determined with maize taken as the research subject, straw burial (no straw, straw deep burial) set as main factors and nitrogen application levels (no, low, medium and high nitrogen) set as vice factors. The results showed that compared to no straw, straw deep burial could increase yield, with increasing rates between 4.61%-9.88%. There were significant differences between yields of different nitrogen application levels under straw deep burial (P<0.05). Maize seed nitrogen accumulation increased as nitrogen application increasing, and the correlation between them was extremely significant positive (P<0.01). When the nitrogen application level was high, the seed nitrogen accumulation of straw deep burial was higher than that of no straw. Agronomic utilization of nitrogen fertilizer increased as nitrogen application increasing, while nitrogen partial factor productivity decreased as nitrogen application increasing. When the nitrogen application level was high, the agronomic utilization of nitrogen fertilizer under straw deep burial was highest, which was 14.61 kg/kg. Straw deep burial could increase nitrogen partial factor productivity. In conclusion, it is better to increase nitrogen fertilizer properly under straw deep burial in practice.
