Abstract:

Methomyl is a kind of carbamate pesticide, which can be used as insecticide, fungicide and herbicide. It has the characteristics of strong selectivity, high efficiency, easy decomposition and degradation, and is widely used in agriculture and forestry. In order to explore the pollution status and severity of methomyl, the authors review the current research status of methomyl, and systematically summarize the domestic and foreign study cases of toxic effects of methomyl, mainly focus on the application and pollution status of methomyl, its reproductive toxicity effect on aquatic organisms, tissues and organs, and DNA damage, etc. At last, the authors discuss the future research directions of methomyl, aiming to provide referential data for further understanding its present pollution situation and toxic effect on aquatic organisms.

Key words: methomyl, pollution situation, aquatic organisms, toxicity effect, research examples
