Abstract:

This paper uses the dichotomous conditional value method and the COX risk proportional model to measure the willingness to pay for water-saving irrigation technology by facility vegetable growers in five provinces in the Bohai Sea rim region and analyzes the influencing factors. The results of the study show that the current adoption rate of water-saving irrigation technology by sample farmers is relatively low, and the average willingness to pay is only 4578.3yuan/hm2. The willingness to pay is significantly and positively correlated with education, family income, and the number of people engaged in facility production. Age is significantly and negatively correlated with the willingness to pay. The above results indicate that the lack of payment capacity is an important aspect that hinders the adoption of water-saving irrigation technology. Therefore, the promotion of the water-saving irrigation technology in facility agriculture requires the government and farmers to jointly bear the cost of technology adoption.
