Comprehensive Evaluation of Biological and Economic Characters of Different Varieties of Sweet Cherry

Abstract:

Six-year-old sweet cherry varieties were used as test materials, the growth and fruiting characteristics, fruit economic characters and phenological period of seven sweet cherry cultivars ‘Xianfeng’, ‘Samituo’, ‘Rabinsi’, ‘Meizao’, ‘Mingzhu’, ‘Jiahong’ and ‘Zhuangyuanhong’ in northern Xinjiang were studied. The results showed that different varieties had different cultural performances, among which ‘Meizao’ had the best fruit quality, and ‘Samituo’ had the best fruit yield per plant and character of high yield. It was concluded that ‘Meizao’, ‘Samitol’, ‘Rabinse’ and ‘Pearl’ had outstanding comprehensive performance in fruit shape, color, fruit weight, inherent quality and yield, which could be used as the main local varieties for proper development in facilities.
