Abstract:

The paper aims to solve the problem of time-consuming and laborious picking of Camellia oleifera. In this paper, 15 main C. oleifera varieties in Hubei Province were selected as the research objects, and 12 characters (fresh weight per fruit, dried fruit seed yield, dry seed kernel rate, seed kernel oil content, density of branches and leaves, tree shape index, average fruit yield per plant, average disease level, average drought damage level, proportion of the fruit outside of crown, proportion of red fruit, picking efficiency) were selected which related to light and simplified cultivation as evaluation indexes. DTOPSIS analysis method was used to evaluate the suitability for light and simplified cultivation of 15 main C. oleifera varieties in Hubei Province. The evaluation values of the light and simplified cultivation suitability of the varieties were in descending order: ‘Changlin 53’ (C>0.6); ‘Changlin 3’, ‘Changlin 40’, ‘Changlin 4’ (0.5<C<0.6); ‘Huashuo’, ‘Huaxin’, ‘Huajin’ (0.4<C<0.5); ‘Changlin 23’, ‘Eyou 102’, ‘Eyou 63’, ‘Changlin 18’, ‘Eyou 465’, ‘Eyou 81’, ‘Eyou 151’, ‘Eyou 54’ (C<0.4). Euclidean distance was used to systematically cluster the DTOPSIS evaluation values. When the inter-class distance was 15, 15 varieties could be clustered into 3 categories, that were the 3 light and simplified cultivation suitability grades. The first 2 grades included ‘Changlin 53’, ‘Changlin 3’, ‘Changlin 40’, ‘Changlin 4’, ‘Huashuo’, ‘Huaxin’ and ‘Huajin’. The evaluation results are basically in line with the planting status of C. oleifera in Hubei Province, and can also provide reference for subsequent afforestation and variety breeding of C. oleifera.
