Abstract: The effects of low temperature and PEG pretreatment on germination of E. mollis Diels Seeds were investigated. And we found that the infiltration effect was evident when pretreated with cood stress at 2℃ and 25%PEG. The seed vigor index and germination velocity was improved remarkably. The seedling quality and Stress Resistence were improved too. the physiological and biochemical changes of the seeds were examined. Under the treatment conditions, the content of soluble Proteins，boiling-stable Proteins，as well as the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD). and catalase(CAT) increased while the MDA content and the activity of peroxidase (POD) decreased.
